Hedge Trimmer Guide: From Basics to Selection & Installation
What is Excavator Hedge Trimmer?
The hedge trimmer can be widely applied in landscaping, municipal maintenance, and farm management. It not only takes advantage of the carrier’s flexible mobility and wide operating range but also maximizes the hedge trimmer’s efficient cutting capability.
It can achieve multiple functions, including large-area rapid trimming, angle adjustment, and flexible relocation. This effectively overcomes the problems of low efficiency, high labor intensity, and poor safety in manual trimming, realizing multi-purpose use with easy operation. It greatly improves trimming efficiency, reduces labor costs, and enhances both operational safety and economic benefits.
What are the advantages of Excavator Hedge Trimmer?
Multiple hydraulic motor configurations are available to meet different hydraulic flow requirements.
| 50cc Motor | 80cc Motor | 100cc Motor |
| 1.5 – 2.5T Excavators | 2.5 – 4.5T Excavators | 4.5 – 8.0T Excavators |
Equipped with high-strength replaceable cutting teeth, capable of cutting branches up to 40 mm in diameter.
Cutting teeth can be replaced individually, reducing maintenance costs and extending service life.
Optional extension rods increase the total cutting length to 2.5 meters, making it suitable for trimming high and hard-to-reach areas.
Supplied with hydraulic hoses pre-installed. Users only need to connect to the hydraulic system, minimizing installation time and ensuring quick setup.

How to Operate and Maintain?
Once the blade touches the tree branch, do not adjust the angle.
If you encounter a stuck branch, either continue turning or reverse the direction; do not adjust the angle. Changing the cutting angle when a branch is stuck can subject the blade to increased torque and pressure, causing damage or deformation, or even causing it to fall from the blade holder, potentially injuring the operator. Furthermore, sudden changes in cutting angle can place additional stress on the hedge trimmer’s drivetrain, damage the machine’s internal structure, and affect its performance and lifespan.
